Antique D. Ansingh & Co. - Zolle - Silver Solist Tuba ( I think) . ( By the way, there are no streaks ( copper lines etc..) that is a reflection coming off the light....
I am no musical instrument expert but I have attempted to research this instrument asdiligently as I can. Additionally, I have contacted an expert and am waiting for their response.
This is a beautiful collectible piece and for all I know with a little refurbishment could be played...??? It is certainly striking and definitely rare . Could be a great design piece.
I believe this is either a # 5117 Tuba or possible 9406 Alto Horn Eb. I have studied the only photos I couldfind on these vintage instruments from thatcompany and none seems to be a perfect match. This particular instrument is quitebeautiful . It has the maker\'s insignia on it . D . Ansingh & Co - Zolle was a German /Dutch company that made these instruments. There are three valves. Two move easily & one has a little bit of a stick in it( Could be lubricated. Mouthpiece is attached. ( I could find no mark on the valve itself. ) Thehorn has the initials G.B engraved on it and the number 14 . This horn seems to be in pretty good condition. There are dents on numerous places ( that I havetried to take photos of). There seems to be no dents or damage to the valves themselves. The top ( or finger piece) of one valve is missing - but otherwise the horn is all intact. The bell also has a small dentThe piece is as pictured..
