This offering is for a # 2 Seth Thomas 8 day key wound clock somewhere around 100 years old. Case looks to be oak with no damage at all. Has no loose joints around upper circular door. On bottom of case is 5 small buttons which is an uncommon feature of this clock. Movement has just been serviced and oiled and is in good running order. Size is 36 inches tall and 15 & 1/2 inches wide and 5 inches deep. It is called the # 2 Seth Thomas Regulator and is weight driven. Original brass works has a 2nd hand and is a precision timekeeper. Works is marked \"ST-77A\". Face reads Santa Fe Railway System - Standard Dial - Seth Thomas. Has the Montgomery dial with no peeling or flaking and is about an eggshell white color. On lower glass, the letters are hand painted in metallic gold with dark blue shadow. It is NOT a decal. It has a Seth Thomas label inside of case but it is not real legible after 100 years. I CANNOT verify that it has ever been in a railroad facility since it has no railroad markings on the case.
This piece would look great in your train room or professional office. You will search a long time to find a finer clock than this one.
