Galiano parlor acoustic guitar manufactured by The Oscar Schmidt Co.It\'s branded Galliano (the original paper label is still intact, visiblethrough the soundhole), and apart from the name, it\'s identical to the otherStella guitars of the mid-1920’s. The Oscar Schmidt Co. used \'decals\' tofancy-up its factory-produced guitars. This guitar is an attractive example of\'Decalcomania\'. Representative of a typical 20s guitar, this example sports asolid birch back and sides, spruce top, dyed fingerboard, black-painted bridge.The neck shape is more C than V.Features original inlaid bridgepins, tailpiece, saddle, tuning machines all in good condition.
Thisguitar needs workincluding a neck that has separated from the body and needsto be reset. The future owner may also want to repair the small crack in theshoulder, as well as re-glue and re-stain the maple fretboard.Otherminor wear visible, including minor crazing, scratches and staining on the top.No other cracks or separation of top, back or sides. The nut has been modifiedto raise the strings for lap-style playing and will need replaced.
