This is an very unique vintage antique maritime binnacle ship compass. It is extremely heavy& made of solid brass. This is not just the Azimuth Circle, but the compass unittoo. The Azimuth Circle is marked: “Lionel Azimuth Circle 1942 Cat. No. 712-A. 9943”
This is a neat vintage navigational maritimeinstrument and a very nice collectible, historical WWII piece of Naval history. This item is in very good condition. Glass is not broken or cracked. The compass does not have water in it & acouple of pieces appear to be missing from the Azimuth Circle (the top metal band/circleon the face of the compass). See photos.
Compass Measures: 12 ½” across at widest point,10” Azimuth Circle, 7 ½” across glass face, 9 ½” in tall with an additional 2”for instruments for a total height of approx 11 ½”. Weighsabout 37 lbs of solid brass.
