1950,s Magnatone Varsity Deluxe Amp 108 For Sale

For your consideration is a late 1950\'sMagnatone Varsity 108 amp. This amp is fresh out of the shop with newcaps and new 3 prong power cord. The original Jenson 8\'\' speaker hasbeen replaced with a mid 1970;s Fender Champ speaker. The originalspeaker cone was eaten away by mice and will need to be re-coned. Theoriginal speaker measured 4ohms and the Champ speaker was a perfectreplacement @ 3.8 ohms. The original speaker will be included withthis purchase. The original leather handle was rotten and replacedwith a real leather replacement. The original on-off tone pot neededreplacement and a original 1950s pot was substituted. Both volume andtone knobs were missing and replaced with 1950\'s style knobs. Thejoints were lose on each end of the cabinet and re-glued with gorillaglue. This made the cabinet very stable. Uses three tubes, 6V6, 5Y3 anda 12AX7 just like a Fender Champ. I like the tone and tube breakupbetter than my 1966 Fender Champ. You will like this vintage amp!.45.00 shipping to lower 48
