Not a 390 but 428CJ/SCJ.Here at FordRamAir.com shakers and ram air units is all I do and I do it well ;-)Three of the most often asked questions are:Does the underhood heat affect the fiberglass ?No. I use only the highest quality resins and gelcoats. The same as in high end kit cars and Corvettes. Have you ever seen a Corvette melt or warp? I had one on my own car for three years and it looked just like it did the day in installed it. No fading, warping or peeling. Are your shakers fully functional ?The function of the flapper & actuator is often misunderstood. I was told once that my units aren\'t functional. This is completely wrong. The flapper is spring loaded open. When the engine is off the spring opens the flapper. As soon as you start your engine vacuum pulls the flapper closed. The only time it opens is at full throtle when engine vacuum is zero. This means your engine is breathing hot underhood air at all other times. The higher the air inlet temperature the lower power output. I prefer to pull air from above the hood which can be over 200 degrees cooler. What about the rain ? Will water get into my engine ?No. Ford designed the air filter lid to be 1\" bigger than the air filter so any rain that makes into the scoop, then past the flapper hole will land on the sir filter lid, drip over the side and fall into the base where it drains out of the drain holes. Your worse case will be a wet air filter as the water will not easily pass through the filter. In three years the only time I got the air filter wet is while washing the car my mind took a walk and I shot water up the hood and into the scoop. The filter had a couple wet spots but wasn\'t soaked. Each kit comes out the box ready to go and is fully functional. Air that enters the scoop is directed through the air filter into the engineTo make a good thing even better you can ad options such as snorkels, badges & scripts, flappers & actuators and decals. Shakers were available on Mustangs with most V-8 engines such as the Boss 302, 351C, 351W, 390, 428CJ. Shakers were never available on a standard 302 so you\'ll need to use the 351C unit. I offer four out of the five . I don\'t offer a 390 specific shaker because it is so close to the 428CJ. A 390 shaker base is about 3/8\" taller than the 428CJ. That missing height can be made up with a thick carb gasket. International buyers please email for shipping costs before offerding.
