For your consideration is my stunning 1970 CF Martin & Co. 00-28C Rosewood / Spruce classical guitar (ser.# 2618XX). Recent professional fret dressing and set up by one of the top Luthiers in the US. Plays like a dream and produces a woody balanced tone that can only be derived from top tone woods, master craftsmanship, and father time. Sporting way cool straight-grained old growth rosewood back and sides, very tight straight-grained spruce sound board, tasteful embellishments, it calls out to you to pick it up compose or perform. This guitar would have been made right when Martin was transitioning from using Brazilian (stocks just ran out) to East Indian rosewood. Either way, Brazilian or East Indian, it is some of the nicest Rosewood that I have ever seen, with a lighter brown chocolate color ( true color is not well represented in photo), consistent and straight-grained as well, a quality that is rarely seen today even on high-end and very expensive guitars. The finish on the sitka spruce has developed wonderful patina that just reinforces the overall mojo of this rare, pre 1970, 00-28C . Great for both professional as well as advancing student. A very small separation found underneath the top near a brace just south of the sound hole was professionally glued and can not be detected without very high magnification. Light and airy as a feather! This makes a great addition to a CF Martin collection but needs to go to a new home, be played and enjoyed!
Original blue-lined Martin case is included. The case is is good condition with all latches working properly except for one. Case still closes nice and tight and provides adequate protection for this wonderful acoustic guitar. I always communicate, ship promptly, ship insured, and supply my contact #\'s to the winning buyer so I can be reached directly if needed.
At this time I will only ship to points within the continental USA.
