You areofferding on an empty decanter in the shape of the famous Reading Pagoda. It is in very good to excellentvintage condition-no cracks, scratches or chips. The lid is intact and verysolid. It is approx. 9 3/4\"H x 5 1/2\"W x 3\"D. Comes withoriginal box. Box shows a little darkening from age and handling. On the bottomfront of the decanter and the top of the box is their LOGO plus it says in a circle\"Michter\'s Whiskey-Original Sour Mash Decanted and Bottled Michter\'s JugHouse, Schafferstown, Lebanon County, PA Original Sour Mash\". and to thesides - 86 Proof, 4/5 Quart.Mitchter\'s was the oldest distillery and madethe only pot whiskey in America. History of the Pagoda
Commissionedin 1906 at a cost of $50,000 by William A. Witman, Sr. to cover his stonequarry, the Pagoda was completed in 1908.It was orginally intended to be a luxury resort atop Mt. Penn, but due to the bank foreclosureand the denial of a liquor license, Witman never opened the Pagoda. By 1910 the Pagoda and surrounding 10 acreswere deeded to local business owner, Jonathon Mould and his wife, Julia (Bell).On April 21, 1911 they \"sold\" the Pagodato the City of Reading for the sum of $1. Since then the Pagoda has been owned, lovedand cared for by the citizens and City of Reading.
