1986 Tennis Ken Barbie, NRFB, Perfect condition doll, rare foreign issue For Sale

Tennis Ken was created in 1986 and was released as a solo act only internationally - NOT in the US Market. Which explains why it\'s so difficult to find him without his barbie girl tennis partner! This Tennis Ken has not been removed from his box, though his box is a bit rough and sports a small tear in the upper left corner (see pics). This guy is the quintessential 80\'s Ken doll - preppy personified! I don\'t think real male tennis players ever tuck their matching striped shirts into their shorts anymore, but Tennis Ken sure did. Tennis Ken is a rare foreign market barbie and a catch!My gosh my mother used to make me play tennis, but I never ran into a Ken-like tennis guy - I guess I wasn\'t advanced enough. She was hoping I\'d be a country club kind of adult; oh well! I\'d dig sitting by the pool and ordering a few cocktails.... that I could do at the club. Domestically he was only available together with Barbie in the Tennis Stars #7801 gift set. The gift set box is dated 1988, so it was sold either late 1988, or 1989. I’ve read it was a Toys R Us exclusive but have no documentary evidence for this.
