Outbackwas an instructor at both the Survival School and the Jungle WarfareTraining Center. He has had extensive experience in Central Americaand may or may not have participated in clandestine operations in theMid East. Most people are intimidated by wilderness and the completeabsence of the hand of man. Not Outback. He believes in being part ofhis environment, not its adversary!

Stuartgot his start as a survivalist long before joining the Army. Theydefinitely put his skills to good use though, and before you knew itStuart was an instructor at the Army Survival School and the JungleWarfare Center. The man knows his nature. He was so good at teachingothers how to get by out in the wild that the Gi Joe team thought itprudent to procure him for their own ends. They quickly recruited theman, who is always eager for a challenge, and put him through the GiJoe entrance exam.

Survivingthat, as he does everything else he tries, Stuart then joined theJoes officially. His first job for them was to test out a bunch ofnew survival gear for the team, which he quickly broke and wore out,and then spent the rest of his mission time living off the land.Stuart\'s second mission saw him joining Stalker, Snow Job and QuickKick on a trip to Borovia, to free someone the government there washolding hostage. Little did the Joes know that another arm of thegovernment had already secured his freedom, making their missionmoot.

Nobodybothered to tell the Joes, though. When his allies were captured,Stuart was ordered to make his way back to the States, to let themknow what was going on in that country, which was harder than itsounded - what with the entire country\'s military mobilized againsthim. Stuart made it back though, and informed the Joe command whathad happened, though several Joes took exception to his returningwhen the others were captured. Leatherneck especially disliked it,and physically demonstrated such - only to get a knife pulled on himas a result.

Histeammates eventually came around (Leatherneck notwithstanding) whenhis Borovian mission partners were finally freed by Snake-Eyes andhis Arashikage cohorts, and Stuart got on with his job - namely, instructing the Joes on proper survival techniques. He continued todo this, whether on his own or as a part of Gi Joe\'s Night Forceteam, for the duration of his time as a part of the team\'s originalincarnation. When the Joes disbanded for a while in \'94, Stuartreturned to his conventional Army work.
