***STONE MORTAR FROM MIDWEST USA******STONE OR POTTERY DISCOIDAL GAME PIECE FROM CENTRAL AMERICA***~~~THE TWO PIECES DID NOT COME TOGETHER OR FROM THE SAME SOURCE. I DON'T KNOW ANY MOREABOUT THEM OTHER THAN WHERE THEY ARE FROM AND THAT THEY ARE ANCIENT.~~~THE MORTAR MEASURES 4" X 3 1/4" AND 1" UP AND DOWN.~~~THE DISCOIDAL IS 1 5/8" IN DIAMETER AND 5/8" THICK. IT HAS WHAT LOOKS LIKE INCISING OR PECKING IN THECENTER. COULD BE RANDOM PECKING OR COULD BE A DESIGN OR SYMBOL. IT MAY HAVE BEEN USEDAS SOMETHING OTHER THAN A GAME PIECE, MAYBE A BASE FOR DRILLING?~~~ I HAVE DESCRIBED BOTH TO THE BEST OF MYABILITY.
Note: * I am up in age now and have no heirs interested in my Native American art, pottery, jewelry, rare books, baskets and other artifact collections. I am relinquishing it all. Please put me on your Favorite Sellers to Follow List,if you are interested in the older and contemporary American Indian artists' works. I would be most happy to addsome unique and sought-after originals and other pieces to your collection.
