The viewcard has some wear as shown. It has two censors\' stamps for its Kansas City, Kansas destination.The unit landed on Utah Beach four days after D-Day and ended up linking up with the Russians in April 1945.I put a photo of the card on the regiment\'s Facebook page and some of the readers provided additional information.This card was written by Michael J. Baran from Pennsylvania, later New York, where he was a sales clerk before the war. He enlisted on January 23rd 1941 and trained at Fort Bragg. Shown is his picture from the Fort Bragg yearbook. He served in Company A, 1st Battalion, 47th Infantry Regiment.Baran was killed in action and more info about his is available at findagrave.
