SEER Ratings: SEER ratings are given by the AHRI to matched systems of HVAC equipment. The SEER of a system is based on the combination of all parts of the system together. In many cases the rating of the complete system will be higher than one individual component (ie the heat pump). For example, a 13 SEER heat pump when matched with a certain air handler will become a 14 SEER complete system. This is very common and not an error in the listing.
