ALICE IN WONDERLAND ALCOA RARE ALUMINIUM CHESS SET
This chess set was produced in 1970 in a limited quantity and distributed to key employees and customers of ALCOA.
The 32 playing pieces are cast aluminum and are characters from \"Alice in Wonderland.\" Felt is in good to fine condition. Figures, cardboard, book and wooden box are in very good condition.
The playing board is also aluminum with a wood base. Base has a chipped corner and every square on board has considerable pitting. (See Photo)
There is also a picture of Alice that was designed by George S. Gaadt. Cardboard insert is in very good condition with staining around the edges. (See Photo.)
The book in the center is a manual entitled \"Chess the Easy Way\" by Reuben Fine and is a 1970 reprint. The leather-bound manual states \"Before your next move consult ALCOA.\" This book came with the set.

The approximate dimensions are as follows: the board is 19\" x 19\" with 2\" squares.
The pieces range in size from the pawn 2-1/2\" tall to the king 4-1/2\" tall.
The king weighs just over 10 ounces.
