Up for sale is a rare, super clean Alvarez 5055 jumbo guitar in excellent playing condition. Made in Japan in the 1970\'s, this blond beauty may be the very best of the J-200 copies from the lawsuit era. It has a solid spruce top with flamed maple sides and back. It is nicely appointed with a rosewood bridge, crown mother of pearl inlays, flower and vine pickguard, covered tuners with plastic vintage style keystone buttons, and headstock inlay with Alvarez script truss rod cover. The 3-piece maple C-shape neck is very comfortable and ideal for most types of acoustic playing.
The sound is just what you would expect from a maple jumbo...very full and loud if you want it to be, great trebles and a big thumpy bass that will rumble your chest. Cosmetically, the guitar has only a few very minor dings. It plays easily up and down the fretboard and the frets display minimal playing wear. The top is flat, neck is straight, action is low, 1-11/16\" at the nut. Comes with an older Gibson hard shell case with red lining.
