Amazing Antique Solid Wood Secretary Bookcase - NEEDS TLC - GORGEOUS DETAILS:
$299.99

Offered here is this Gorgeous 1890s Solid Wood Secretary with Glass Door Vitrine Bookcase. The secretary is in fair condition, and unfortunately has some issues. The shelves are loose within the bookshelf / Vitrine section although the glass is intact on the front of the door. The secretary has a mirror, that is on the top at the right side and unbelievably gorgeous carved details and applied accents all throughout. It also has the original metal hardware, which is absolutely incredible and ornate as well. The front door of the secretary that would open down as a writing service has been broken off, and in half horizontally, however, the hinges are intact and it could easily be repaired. This door is 14\" top to bottom, 20\" wide. There is a lot of light staining and wear as well as scratches and dings to the finish. The wooden back paneling on the piece is splitting and beginning to come loose as well. There are some panel supports on the back of the piece that are also loose and need to be reattached. The mirror has a lot of wear to the reflective surace, so will most likely need to be replaced. The secretary is hallmarked on the back Skandia Furniture Co. The drawer front on the bottom drawer is broken off as well and will need to be repaired. The secretary is 65\" tall at most, 40\" long side to side, and about 15\" wide front to back. I am unsure of its actual age, but would guess that it dates to the 1890s or possibly into the early 1900s. It is an absolutely amazing antique secretary with Gorgeous carved details. It is in need of some TLC but would make a beautiful item that could easily be restored and fixed up to be an absolutely gorgeous antique piece.
