Beautiful brass Cornet engraved \"Empress\" Specially made for H.R. Eisenbrandt Sons Inc. Baltimore, MD. Decorative scroll design around horn with mother of pearl topping figure notes. Horn of cornet is torn and has dings and dents throughout piece. ( as seen in photos ) Each fingure key is numbered 24-25-26. Is a great piece of instrumental history.
Heinrich Eisenbrandt was born 1790-1861 and immigrated from Germany to United States with his parents in 1811. Was a well known maker, inventor and dealer of fine wind instruments. He started the company in 1819 and was located 78 W. Baltimore Street & 39 South Broadway. Became Eisenbrandt Sons in the 1860s and was in business until 1949.
