Some wear to the covering on the spine. The binding is still intact. Otherwise, the book is in generally good condition considering it’s 100 years.
In the past, it was used as a study text as it has some underlining in pencil, a lesser amount (key points) underlined in red plus an occasional note in pencil in the margins.
For me, this embellishes the story of the book. I purchased it in Shanghai in the 1980’s from where it was sourced from a library in one of the colonial houses in the foreign concessions. After 1949, these large houses were converted to flats for the local population. Later, as China opened to the west, these items from the houses started to be sold in the markets to foreigners.
