Antique 19th Century Alligator Doctor\'s Bag w Brass Hardware & Feet Genuine For Sale

This is a beautiful example of an antique alligator (crocodile?) satchel or doctor\'s bag. As you can see, it is a rich shade of brown with brass hinges, closures and button feet. The interior of the bag is lined in leather, with 4 separate compartments. This impressive bag stands approximately 12\" high to the top of the handle (8 1/4\" to the frame) and 18 1/2\" wide when sitting. I would say that the bag is in good overall antique condition, though (as shown) it does have minor losses to a scale on one side corner, a crack along one lower edge, scuffs, scratches and wear commensurate with age and use. There is also some soiling to the interior, as pictured. That being said, there is no question that this bag has a great aesthetic; use it or display it, but please give it a new lease on life:) Thanks for looking!
