JW York & Sons Cornet made in Grand Rapids MI. Slides work well without any sticking. Marked 37929 Al-Tru. I don\'t know the exact year of manufacture, from comparing similar items I would place this between 1905-1930. The extra piece is to modify the cornet to \"modern\" tuning. Plays well, has some dings on body see photos. Overall plays well and is in very good condition for age, message with any questions.
I do not have a case, I will ship USPS and take extra care to preserve item during shipping.
