DESCRIPTION / CONDITION / PROVENANCEThis is a stunning!! oil painting on canvas, of a 17th century figural landscape scene, titled \" The Feast of the Prodigal Son \" After David Teniers the Younger Antwerp/Belgium ca.1644. The detail in this painting is just remarkable, we examined the piece for hours, unfortunately we could not locate an artist signature, however this painting was most likely executed by a prominent copy artist. There are a few spots/areas that look like it could maybe be a faint signature, but it\'s hard to say. We do know based by the stamp on the back of the canvas, this piece was originally owned and sold by the famous 19th century fine art gallery \" Goupils \", which originally started in Paris, France in 1842, in 1848 Goupil Gallery opened a branch in New York. The condition of the painting and frame are very nice, painting does have a very tiny old repair, as you can see on the photo of the back, otherwise is very nice. The frame is just gorgeous, we believe it is original to the painting, it is a very heavy gilt wood frame. There is some minor chipping off the left edge. (See photos) This piece as well as a few others to be listed soon, came from a very high-end collector and longtime saleeer\'s estate in Boca Raton, Florida.
