These were originally built to be installed in a boat. There's mounting holes on the bottom to bolt to a base or platform. Originally made to burn coal but could burn sticks and other small pieces of wood.
It would heat up a small building, ice fishing shanty, deer blind quickly.

On the front of the cast iron it says
