💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 This towel is beautifully and lovingly hand made. This dates from the 1930s and is part of a most magnificent trousseau I have to sell. As tradition has it , the young girls of Italy would start making their linen about the age of ten. I was told she was taught to sew by the nuns of the local village and in fact they contributed their own work to the trousseau also. This towel is amazing. As was the custom, the young girls of Italy would build up their trousseau bit by bit over many years. Some girls that lived in the countryside even wove their own linen from flax. I have some of that work listed too if you care to have a look. This towel is exceptionally nice, unused and very high quality. Never been used and carefully packed away in a trunk for many many years. A macrame fringe work all executed by hand. Generously sized. measures 100cm X 61cm . (59 X 24 Inches) amazing!!! Double damask with very pretty motifs. Free of stains, holes etc and are in as found condition. It is clean however would surely brighten and benefit from a light soak, but the original finish is present it is our policy to leave that choice to the buyer. A really fine and lovely towel. 

Carefully kept in a trunk for more than 90
