Description

This sale is for an antique safe deposit box from the Utica City National Bank.

 A coin (USA 25¢) or a ruler (6”/15cm) may be included in the photos above for scale purposes.

Origin/History:    Found in a flea market in New York state

Function/Use:  Used for safe deposit vault at the Utica City National Bank.  Box fit into the standard safe deposit drawer in a vault

Structure/Composition:  Made of thick tin or steel.  Has a push button lock and a small handle.  Hinges are tight and work well.

Usage/Wear-and-Tear:  In excellent condition.  No missing parts. Fully function with very slight bend at push-button lock.

Year Made/Approximate Age:  Late 1800’s to early 1900\'s.

Dimensions/Volume:  About 10.5 inches (~26cm) by 5 inches (~13cm) and about 2.5 inches deep..

Mark(s):  Marked with a brass seal of the Utica City National Bank and their logo (Strength, Safety & Service) plus a date 1848 (the year of the establishment of the bank, NOT the date the box was made)

Domestic (USA) Shipping:

• This item is offered with a calculated shipping cost.

  • The shipping method used will be either USPS Priority Mail or USPS First Class Mail depending on the package\'s total weight.
