The headphones are equipped with the same 45 mm large-aperture drivers that grace the M50x – long the monitoring choice of top engineers and audio pros – to provide exceptional clarity throughout an extended frequency range with deep accurate bass response. The StreamSet however comes with two sets of distinct earpads that you can use according to your preference: M50x earpads that stress audio quality and sound isolation; mesh and leatherette earpads that emphasize breathability and comfort.
Yet it’s the microphone design that truly sets the StreamSet apart. Broadcast headsets typically employ a highly directional dynamic mic that’s great at cutting out crowd noise and other ambient sounds but doesn’t often capture all the detail in a speaker’s voice. The ATH-M50xSTS-USB instead uses a cardioid condenser adopted from our popular 20 Series microphone designs (along with an A/D converter with a sampling rate up to 24-bit/96 kHz) and places it at the end of a flexible boom arm allowing for ideal positioning that maintains its proximity to your mouth even as you move your head. The result is rich studio-quality vocal presence without background noise output at a consistent level. Plus the headset’s sidetone circuitry lets you hear your voice in the headset (with volume controlled by a dial on the earcup) for a more natural conversational feel. The mic can be muted quickly and efficiently simply by flipping the boom arm into the up position.

Freight & Oversize Return Fee: Items originally shipped via free scheduled delivery/specialty motor freight require special shipping and will incur return fees (starting at $150). Oversize items include but are not limited to TVs over 55\", select subwoofers and floorstanding speakers, furniture, and most items over 75 pounds. Returns for an exchange will also incur return fees.
Restocking Fee: A partial refund may be given or the return may be refused in the event merchandise is not returned in its original condition or packaging, was previously installed, is missing parts, cables cut or terminated, has a missing or different serial number from the one shipped, or is damaged during return shipment due to improper packing.
