Authentic Antique Karl Griesbaum KEN-D Singing Automaton Bird In Cage For Sale

Fantastic attic-find Karl Griesbaum singing automaton bird in great working condition! Was kept well protected during its long-term storage and is in excellent working condition. The chirping and singing of the beautiful yellow bird is nice and loud and very crisp in tone. The bird itself moves its head and tail nicely and without any problems whatsoever. The only negatives I can find are that the brass base and cage do show a normal and reasonable amount of wear and the winding key is missing. There are no scratches or dents to the visible parts of the base. There are several areas on the bottom plate where the gold pain has been scratched off and there was a piece of tape attached to the bottom that has since fallen off. A different style of key was used to wind the box up, but it is not the correct key for this music box. As far as the small plants and flowers around the bird are concerned, I don\'t know what was there originally but there seems to be a reasonable amount of it around the bird. Some of it does seem a bit loose. Also, the little red berries among the plants have lost most of their finish.
All in all, this is a wonderful, original-condition Karl Griesbaum piece in very good condition!
