For sale is the best example of a string of 23 Antique American Brass 19th C Sleigh Bells. It is all original petal patterned bells on the original leather strap with original belt buckle all there. The bells are arranged with graduating sizes, from 1” to 2.5” in diameter. Each bell is made with thick brass and have well worn petal pattern.
It possesses a patina that makes it appear ancient.
The belt is broken in the middle at the position of a large bell. But since the buckle is present, the assembly is all in one string and can hang up easily . Even the loose bell is present and is currently strung up onto the bell buckle.
The most prolific time and place in American Sleigh bell production was Connecticut in the 1800's. a great piece to add to your antique brass / early Americana/ old Christmas collection.
