It is called \'Downoi\' (little star) in Thailand, and it is easy to see why (5-10 cm tall and wide). Pogostemon helferi is an unusual and distinctive aquatic plant with a compact habit, curly leaves and a strikingly beautiful green colour.
With good light conditions and a nutrient-rich substrate, Pogostemon helferi forms many side shoots that develop small roots, and the plant rapidly forms an impressive carpet of foreground vegetation. Pogostemon Helferi is a striking plant and easily noticeable by the green curly leaves, spiraling up the shoot. It is aesthetic, but it is also one of the most miniature freshwater plants in your tank. That means you can host a Pogostemon Helferi in a smaller tank.These plants are pretty similar to the Dwarf Baby Tears in appearance. It has a rosette-shaped design, and the plant\'s leaf shape is wavy. The leaves of the Helferi grow outwards from the stem and create a star-shaped pattern with its wavy leaves. They look very beautiful with Dwarf Baby tears.
It needs constant fertilizing, mainly when there is not much fish in the tank to contribute. The leaves will become yellowish when they don\'t get enough iron, but they can recover fast if you notice it early and add nutrients in the recommended doses. CO2 may be added to accelerate growth, but the plant will still grow without it, just a bit slower.The best way to make a plant feel at home and grow to its full potential is to set up a tank that mimics its natural environment. LIVESTOCK
- We guarantee live arrival on all of our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 24 hours. Keep in mind these plants just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and be at their best again. Please Take clear photos of the dead product and send it to us within 24 hours of receiving the item and once the item is validated by us we will send a replacement or refund minus the cost of shipping. Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.
- If you are concerned about extreme heat or cold, we highly recommend having the post office hold your mail for the estimated delivery day. This is a completely free option which can be requested online via www.usps.com or in person at your local post office. This way, your package will remain indoors, protected, and out of the elements for you to pick up once the package has arrived.
- We guarantee live arrival of all live stock. This means we assure that live stock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive.
