Beautiful Pre-Columbian Moche Peru Stirrup Spout Vessel – Woman & Child For Sale

This is a rare and authentic pre-Columbian Moche stirrup spout vessel in the shape of a woman (mom) sitting down with a child on her right.The woman is holding something in her left hand; I can\'t make out what it is but it is hand-painted in a crisscross pattern. There is very faint hand-painted diamond-shaped design around the bottom edge of her dress. She has a bag that hangs off the left shoulder.It also looks like she might have a type of bag that hangs off her head and sits on her back. There is very finely-painted stripes that go from her head all the way to her back. I think her hair is represented by incised crisscross lines and her hair was possibly braided.The small child has a little hand painting on the clothing. It looks like there are 2 stripes on his shirt.The vessel is in excellent condition with no repairs and no cracks. On the very base there are a very few fine chips but they are very minimal. It measures 9-1/8\" tall x 5\" wide x 4.5\" deep.A spectacular piece, definitely museum quality from the area of Peru. This would date anywhere from 200 B.C. to 600 A.D.
