American Cannons isthe first and only civilian cannon on the market with removable barrels.By having a removable barrel, the cannons are the safest cannons on the markettoday. In black powder shooting , it’s not “If” it’s “when” do you have amisfire. This means that your cannon is loaded and does notfire/shoot. The main reason for a misfire is bad powder or moistpowder. “Keep you powder dry!” is an old quote that still holdstrue today.

IMPORTANT: Cannons “without” removable barrels ifnot fired can only be unloaded by going into the front of the barrel - taking ahuge risk of the cannon going off in your face.

With an AmericanCannon having the first and only removable barrel on the market, if a misfirehappens the recommendation is to wait 3 minutes, re-pick the fuse hole, addanother fuse and relight. If the cannon still does not fire, wait 10minutes, then Stand to the Side of the cannon, and unscrew the barrel. (NEVERSTAND IN FRONT OF THE CANNON) This separates the powder from the projectilesafely allowing a person to unload the cannon risk free.

Please refer to thediagram of the American Cannon receiver, the barrel screws into the receiverroughly 7 inches. The diameter of the firing chamber is smaller than theinside diameter of the barrel. (Howitzer military cannon design) Thisdoes not allow a golf ball to enter into the firing chamber keeping the golfball in the barrel. When the cannon is loaded the powder is in thefiring chamber, the golf ball is in the barrel. When the barrel isremoved, the ball will stay with the barrel and the powder will stay in thereceiver. Then knock the ball out of the barrel, use a wire hook toremove the powder from the receiver and start over.
