A Canadian example of the Pattern 1925 Rucksack, top part, in blue-grey web as used by theRAF and RCAF. It is maker marked “MS&U” (Montreal Suspender & Umbrella)and dated 1940. This rucksack, with its many straps, was nicknamed “the octopus”by airmen who used it. This particular rucksack is unusual in that it iscomplete with its Rucksack supporting strap (aka “kicking strap”) which isalmost always missing.
