Note about Cherry:All the boards havenaturally occurring mineral deposits that are a characteristic of cherry. Small black flecks occur in the grain where tiny amounts of sap were stored in the cherry tree. Mineral deposits are natural and randomly occurring. They do not diminish the strength or quality of the wood. The mineral deposits add to its uniqueness.
It is against sustainable forestry principles to discard cherry that contains mineral deposits. Up to five times the number of trees would need to be harvested to produce lumber with virtually no mineral deposits.
