Daguerreotype identified as \"G W Frothingham\" For Sale

Sixth plate (2.75\" x 3.25\") of a man with a small beard, identified underneath the image as \"G. W. Frothingham\". Purchased by me in 1974 in Massachusetts, presumably this is George Washington Frothingham of Lynn, Massachusetts, who was born August 11, 1824. A nice sharp image with no scratches or other defects, other than the usual ring of tarnish along the outside edge.

The mat and preserver styles date this to 1853. In a full leather case, split at the hinge, of design \"The Romanesque Urn\" (Rinhart #141).
