Nice Early WWII U.S. Army Soldier's GI Canteen & Cup Kit, Dated 1943
DESCRIPTION:Nice original standard style WWII Army soldier's GI canteen. Complete with insulated cover and tin cup with folding handle, for an outfit consisting of 3 pieces. This kit shows its age well and has lots of nice patina and eye appeal.
IDENTIFIED TO ORIGINAL SOLDIER, WHICH IS VERY NICE AND VERY RARE. Written in ink on inside of flap is "Weed, and his serial number, 42066351.
Both canteen and cup are nicely marked. The canteen was made by USSCO and is early, dated 1943. The cup is also marked with the maker's name, LP&C, and is dated 1942. Both are clean except for a minor rust stain in the bottom.
This is a nice personal WWII GI item and it would be a great addition to any collection or display of WWII war souvenirs and items.
ALSO, AN ESPECIALLY NICE EXAMPLE FORUSE BY A RE-ENACTOR OR EVEN FOR FUNCTIONAL USE BY A BOY SCOUT OR CAMPER.
In very nice condition for its age.
