Effanbee 1924 Bubbles Walk Talk Sleep Doll 21\" For Sale

This gorgeous gal is an antique Effanbee Bubbles doll from 1924. She is composition and cloth, with legs, arms and chestplate all composition. Bubbles has molded blonde hair and blue tin sleep eyes. Her mouth is open with no visible teeth. Lips have mild color, but other face paint is very hard to see. Bubbles has prominent dimples. Her head has cracking and a loss of material on the top- see photos. Arms and legs have damage that looks like someone painted over- especially on the legs and feet. She is marked on the Back 1924 Effanbee Walk Talk Sleep Made in USA. This doll does have a crier but it isn\'t working. Her cloth body is in good condition and shaped like a pear- chubbier than most dolls. She is wearing a cloth diaper, a slip, a dress, and a handmade shawl and hat. The dress and slip look like they could be original and if not they are of the correct time period. In researching her, I found several Bubbles dolls in dresses/slips that looked almost identical. Later issued Bubbles dolls had dresses that were tagged- these have a tag, but it says Hand Made Imported. Clothes are in really good shape. Overall this doll has issues expected with her age but isn\'t in horrible condition- her clothes and a bonnet will cover most of her damage! Her face is still in good condition and her smile is infectious!
