Pair of Edwardian cut steel shoe clips that were hand made in France and date to the early 1900’s. Each shoe clip measures 2” x 2 1/2” and each is marked M.G. France across the back frame.
Cut Steel is polished steel faceted studs riveted to a steel backing. It was popular from the Georgian through Victorian eras to create jewelry, ornaments, buttons, and buckles. Pieces were made in both Europe and England from the 1700s up to the 1930s.
