428 Cobra Jet Engine - Rebuilt and Ready to Go

Swapping the carburetor to an original 735 CFM 428 CJ replacement carburetorFactory correct fuel pump and proper PCV setupOne of the best performance engines Ford ever made, the mighty 428 Cobra Jet. This build uses a Cx scratch block that was sonic tested and has a fresh standard bore of 4.13 for the 428 CJ. All the extra strength webbing is there, and it can be bored further in the future. Extra strong engine block that’ll make anyone’s car perform extremely well.

This engine sports many FOMOCO original parts with the exception of the crank, cam, and bearings. Camshaft specs are 519 lift with 270 duration, which should absolutely make this engine come alive when you press the pedal! We installed NOS FOMOCO Hydraulic lifters to avoid cam break-in issues. We pre-fill and prime the engine oil using Rotell T4 15/40 and added extra zinc prior to priming the engine. Oil pressure using our drill is at 65 psi.
All tolerances checked, clearances checked, and now it’s ready to fire up and perform camshaft break-in.

If you choose to use headers instead of factory manifolds, you’ll gain about 25 horsepower. This is a great package deal. We’ve done all the work for you. From carburetor to oil pan, this is a turnkey motor. All you have to do is install it and perform a cam break-in for 20 minutes.
