The top is made of spruce and the back of maple as same as the neck.
The fingerboard is most likely made of rosewood, the saddle and pegs are made of ebony and the frets are made of ivory. This guitar was built by the famous violin maker Joseph Anton Haff, in 1825 in Augsburg!
It convinces apart from the incredibly charming wear and still neat appearance, with good playability and in fact a large, full and balanced sound, despite the very small body.
The neck is thin and fits comfortably in the hand - Mr. Haff knew what he is doing!
The woods are obviously well chosen, because there is virtually no need for action in this instrument. The top has a few stress cracks which do not require action in my opinion.
A simple but good matching rosewood bridge are holding the strings, the sticks which are holding the strings are the only parts on this instrument which are nor original by Haff, my guitar maker has changed them against some good matching made of rosewood. Below the bridge, there are ornaments to match the instrument from fine rosewood. Here you can see at first glance that it is a matter of pandering, beloved guitar. Because over the years, obtaining this ornament is hardly possible, especially when the guitar was cleaned.
Back and sides are made of maple - with all due respect my personal favorite.An extremely delicate neck base holding her neck on the body. Surely this also plays a role, for the sound, without compromising on stability.Anyone who thinks that\'s it, you are wrong! Because on the - alleged - maple neck and its rosewood fingerboard sit fret ivory. Beautifully finished and evenly placed so that each note sounds clean. The neck has a slight curvature, which, however, does not detract playability. The \"mechanics\" were not in the present form in circulation. Therefore sit in the headstock pegs made of ebony. With a little practice and some patience, the guitar remains in tune.This guitar needs a good home and an owner which is delighted over the beautiful sound and can appreciate what such a little thing has seen over the years and survived mainly.Total lenghts: 94 cm, bodylenghts 44,1 cm
