This Gates banded multi-speed belt is a power transmission belt suitable for use in a wide range of applications at varying speeds. It is made of EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber for resistance to weathering, oils, water, and some solvents. This high-modulus, fiber-loaded material increases lateral rigidity, which results in higher load carrying capacity and long belt life. Notches molded into the underside create the flexibility needed to fit smaller diameter sheaves while maintaining strength and traction, while its smooth construction creates minimal vibration at high speeds. This banded multi-speed belt meets Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) oil and heat resistance standards and static conductivity requirements and is suitable for all industrial open pulley or enclosed device variable speed drives.V-belts, also called fan belts in automotive applications, link two or more rotating shafts to transmit power in a drive system.
