11\" Gurkha World War Khukuri:-: -


This II World War Gripper Horn Handle is one of the Very Famous Kukri of the Military. This model is a reproduction of World War II-era kukri. It has a customized finger gripper on the handle which makes it comfortable to use. This is carried by the Military in hand-to-hand combat in the Jungle of Burma during the 2nd World War. It is Historic Kukri. This Khukuri originated in Nepal but later Indian Military Army applied it. The blade is heavier and more curved than the current Kukri issued to the Military. With its origin in Nepal, this World War or Dehradoone Khukuri(kukri) was later imitated by the Indian Military army in Dehradoon during World War II. Its popularity was such that Nepal could not meet the increasing demand hence Dehradoon took over and started producing it on a large scale. This is how this World War Khukuri (kukri) got its name & The Dehradoone Khukuri\" also. This World War khukuri (kukri) has one of the most beautiful shapes due to more curves in the front part of the blade. It is slightly larger than the current issue. As it is because it was more in use during the World War Days

Sheath: Cotton Covered in Water Buffalo hides Blade Weight: 38 oz or 950 grams.

Where this Kukri is Made?

The origin of the Kukri is in Nepal. Dharan is a small Gurkha town that is located in eastern Nepal. Dharan is a very famous and important place for Gurkha recruiting. We have our own factory in Dharan, there are over 200 blacksmiths (metal smith,kamis). And all the Kukri they made by hand.

* Material Used : Highly Graded Carbon Steel 5160, water Buffalo Leather for Scabbard(outside) and water buffalo horn for the Handle, Pinewood for the Scabbard (inside), Brass and \"Laha\" ( Nepali Traditional Glue) .



* Place Of Origin: EGKH Factory in Kathmandu, Nepal.


* Steel Hardness : spine=22-25 RC, belly=45-46 RC, edge=58-60 RC


* Scabbard: Cotton Covered in buffalo leather. The scabbard has Single frogs which are leather loops used to attach to the belt.


* Karda & Chakmak: These are small knives that come with Kukri. Karda is a small knife used for skinning animal hairs. And Chakmak is used of sharpening the Kukri blade in its blunt. When you offer or buy this In order you will also get these two unique knives.
