Tasks were versatile, including transport, air space surveillance, reconnaissance, target marking for artillery to dropping of leaflets. Following the withdrawal of Australian troops from Vietnam from the end of 1971, the Porters continued to serve reliably in the Army until their retirement in 1992.
Pilatus PC-6 Turbo-Porter Designed as a single-engined STOL utility aircraft, the PC-6 was first flown on May 9th, 1959.
