Vintage International Chicago, USA farm tractor sharpener with grinding stone for sickle bar sharpening. Straight out of VA estate sale. It is covered with a coating of thick grease but that seems to have helped preserve it. I cleaned it up a little bit and there is still plenty of green paint under the grease on the body and the gears. Some paint loss and rust, of course. The crank turns the gears and the stone rotates smoothly. I can\'t tell how the unit is supposed to be mounted or exactly how it works so please look at pictures to see if it\'s complete or if anything is broken. The wood handle is split in a couple of places and has a small chunk off it. There are two parts with a thick heavy wire that may or not have had the wire broken. One is on the unit near the large spring and the other is on a small loose piece with a hook on the end- see last photo. The wires seem to be different gauges so I\'m not sure if they were ever attached at some point.
The long metal rod handle is ever so slightly bent. There are many embossed part numbers on the unit.
No returns, sold \"as found\" and \"as is\" in vintage condition- may need parts, adjusting, repair. Smells of old grease and gasoline. The sickle bar is not included. I will ship this with the long metal rod handle and the cranking handle / large gear section removed for a more compact box.
