Up for sale is a fine bone china teacup & saucer commemorating the 1939 royal visit of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada and the United States made by Aynsley in England.
The teacup features portraits of their Majesties on the front and the Canadian Coat of Arms on the back with the caption \"To Commemorate the Visit of Their Majesties to the Dominion of Canada and the United States of America\". The same caption is featured on the saucer. The teacup stands 2 3/8 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches wide including the handle. The saucer measures 5 3/8 inches in diameter.
Other than some gilt wear on the saucer rim, this set is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, scratches or crazing.
This set is a rare find and a fabulous addition to your curio collection !
