The historic racing car was offered for sale at the Mecum Monterey sale in August 2012. Catalog is in excellent condition, save for a bit of edge wear. On the sale block, it took another “first,” as a packed house cheered it on to a $5.5 million offer ($5.83 million including commission), which earned the 917/10 top honors in the sale and shattered the record sale price for a Porsche.
