This is a lot of eight (8 vintage John J. Audubon Bird Prints of Woodpeckers.
They are vintage book prints removed from \"The Birds of America\" , copyrighted in 1937 and published by the MacMillan Company in 1946.
The plates were reproduced from Audubon\'s original paintings that he published in England from 1827 - 1838.
Included are prints of Red-Headed, Pileated (Downy on opposite side), Ivory-Billed, Red-Cockaded, Flicker and Arctic 3-Toed. There is also a two prints that feature multiple woodpeckers.
Each plate measure approximately 8 1/2\" x 12\" and is on heavy buff-colored paper. All are in good vintage shape. Each has one edge that isn\'t smooth where it was removed from the book.
Each has another bird on the reverse side.
The descriptive caption at the bottom of each plate was written by William Vogt.
The prints will be shipped flat with solid backing for protection.
