Lrg 36\" Antique Red Indian Tobacco Banner Ad Sign on Linen Silk, Not Porcelain For Sale

 Up for your consideration is this rare Red Indian advertising banner. This large 36.5 x 16.5 inch lithograph banner appears to be printed on fine linen or silk material. This material is delicate due to age and exposure. It may be handled without breaking, flaking etc. We see it best studied framed rather than mounted or hung as it is like a porcelain sign, etc. We see some obvious loss throughout, more seen on the left side. We do see some loose threads/light fraying along the edges. Written on the banner, far right center is Aug 29, 1899 Guilford VT. This sign was aquired from an estate just on the MA/VT border. We were told this came from an old general store in Guilford, which is just south of Brattleboro. We have searched for another example of this great looking piece of tobacco history but have not been able to find another like it. We have seen one similar lithograph on paper sold via Livesaleeers, but that was it. Here is your chance to own a scarce piece of tobacco advertising. This sign measures approximately 16.5 inches by 36.5 inches. This item will be shipped flat, not folded.
