Offered is a MARQUE de MARTIN print saying "In The Beginning" using an original Medieval Woodblock cut in 1536 from Basel, Switzerland.
Marque de Martin hand printed these original medieval woodblocks on handmade paper of cotton, sisal, and Manila hemp printed on an antique printing press.
Only a few prints of each antique woodblock were made for the world. Please refer to the photos for authenticity, it is a 1986 print of the original woodcut block by John Calvin, a very unusual treatment.
In amazing condition it looks like this was never hung & in original frame. The total size of the framed print is 12" x 15", the size of the actual woodblock print is 6" x 8" it weighs 2 lbs, 1 oz
