General description:

The Siemens PLC-based CoolLinks™ controller sequences theoperation of the two Marvair ComPac® II units to ensure the mostenergy-efficient conditioning of the shelter space and the most balanced use ofthe conditioning equipment. The CoolLinks system determines the need to cool orheat the shelter based on an indoor temperature sensor and outsidetemperature/humidity sensor connected directly to the controller. When coolingor heating is required, the controller selects the unit that was not running inthe previous cooling/heating cycle. This lead/lag operation ensures that eachunit receives equal runtime and therefore extends the operating life of theunits. In the event that one of the units is unavailable, for example,scheduled maintenance, the system will automatically select the active unit.Similarly, if the internal shelter temperature continues to rise/fall, thesystem will run both units.
