This Mesa Boogie Express Guitar Combo Amp provides a wide variety of sound capabilities to choose from. To this end it has two fully independent Channels, each of which contains two style enhanced Modes. As such Channel1 can be set in CLEAN or CRUNCH Mode, while Channel 2 gives the choice between BLUES and BURN. When playing R&B or Blues, for example,a good combination would be Channel 1 on CLEAN and Channel 2 on BLUES, while a Rock, Metal or Punk gig would possibly use Channel 1 on CRUNCH and Channel 2 on BURN. Each Channel has a full range of controls: Gain, Treble, Mid, Bass, Reverb, Master Volume and Contour. Therich all-tube REVERB effectcan be independently controlled for each Channel and Mode. Finally, the CONTOUR control allows the use of the classic Mesa preset \"V\" EQ curve which scoops the mids while boosting the low and high frequencies. The provided 3-button footswitch allows switching between the two Channels and the On/Off switching of the Reverb and the Contour functions. This amp also features Mesa\'s patented \"DUO-CLASS\" power switching, which allows the output tubes to run in two different wattage ratings. With the flip of a switch one can use the full 25 Watt Class AB power mode for punch and headroom or the 5 Watt Class A for sweet clipability. The speaker is a 10\" 50W-8 Ohm Mesa Boogie Vintage Black Shadow speaker, and 1/4\" outputs are provided to connect exterior speaker cabinets if so desired. Several other 1/4\" jacks provide connections to add external effects and master external switching devices. The amp is handmade in Petaluma, California, is approximately 16\" high, 19\" wide and 11\" deep, and is reasonably portable at approx. 40 lbs. weight.
