This is a new Barry Sholder Gourd 5 string Fretless Banjo #173This banjo featuresnice Curly Maple neck and Bubinga Fretless fingerboard, with a Canarywood veneer overlay on the peghead. The entire banjo is finished with hand-rubbed Danish Oil producing a matte finish. The tuners are Ebony friction violin tuners...very smooth operation and the strings are a custom set of D\'Addarrio nylon and composite classical guitars.The gourd is a Canteen style measuring10\" dia .x 4\" deep with a 2 \" soundport t. The interior of the gourd has been fiberglassed for durabilty and improved acoustics. The head is goatskin treated with ScotchGuard and the tailpiece is a Romero style that keeps the strings from rubbing on the edge of the gourd.
